Steinhart Hotel

San Francisco

The Steinhart is an extended stay hotel in San Francisco. It was built in 1910 by banker, entrepreneur, benefactor of the city’s Steinhart Aquarium in Golden Gate Park, and resident of the Steinhart from 1910 to 1917, Ignatz Steinhart (1836-1917). Today, The Steinhart retains its historic turn-of-the-century character while offering modern conveniences. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The public areas of the building have been recently renovated by William Sofield of New York's Studio Sofield, giving the Steinhart Hotel’s extended stay in San Francisco a completely refreshed look by combining its original design with modern materials to create a comfortable and elegant atmosphere.
